BVU's "Woman Wonder" to Compete for Kennedy Center American College Theatre Honors and National Playwriting Award
Buena Vista University (BVU) Theatre's production of "Woman Wonder" has been selected to be performed at the Region V Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF) 50 in Des Moines. BVU is the only university in Iowa to be invited to compete at the coveted competition.

The Midwest Conference (MWC) has announced the 2017 Football All-Conference Team on Wednesday. The Prairie Fire placed five players on the All-MWC team, including two first-teamers.
The College of Human Sciences at Iowa State University has awarded students with scholarships to support their unpaid internships and student teaching experiences during spring 2018.
Members of Iowa State University's Block and Bridle Club attended the 97th Annual National Block and Bridle Convention in Arlington, Virginia. The conference, hosted by the University of Connecticut and the American Society of Animal Science, provided students with an interest in production animal agriculture the opportunity to see the House Committee on Agriculture and meet legislators who work on farm bills for Congress.
Students saw agriculture and the life sciences first-hand in several European countries, Uganda, China and Taiwan through various study abroad programs this summer. The Ag Study Abroad Office offers students the chance to select a program based on their interest in the topic and the location. Through trips offered over breaks in the academic year, during the summer and semester-long exchanges or internships, students in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences have been on all seven continents studying agriculture and life sciences.

Sixty-six incoming first-year College of Human Sciences students participated in Orientation at Iowa State University in Ames, June 21-22. As part of the program, students and their families met peers, signed up for classes, became familiar with the campus, and learned tips for making the most of their college careers.
A team of Iowa State advertising students received second-place honors in the 2017 Collegiate Effie Awards Pace Brand Challenge, a national competition in which students created integrated, multi-channel marketing campaigns for a real-world client.
A group of nearly 25 Iowa State University undergraduate students gained research and laboratory experience in the Science with Practice program this semester. Students participating in Science with Practice develop individualized learning agreements and project goals with Iowa State faculty mentors. At the conclusion of the semester, participants presented their projects at a poster session open to the public.
The Iowa State University College of Design Dean's List honors students who have earned a grade point average of 3.5 or higher for at least 12 credit hours of course work.
The Ladies in Fitness Training Club elected officers for the 2017-2018 academic year on April 18.
Seventeen GU students have been elected as House Presidents for the 2014-15 school year. These students were nominated by a house preference vote, then passed a rigorous case study and board interview process. They will offer leadership and support to the members of their House and to the entire Graceland University student body. More than 120 Cornell College students are taking part in the college's annual Alternative Spring Break. This is the10th year the college has sponsored a service trip that takes place during its 10-day Spring Break. This year, students are going to 10 different locations, including Philadelphia, Detroit, New Orleans, Chicago, Atlanta, Memphis, Tenn., Jacksonville, Fla., and El Paso, Texas.
